This post was meant to go out last night but
we had grandchildren staying so it shifted to this morning.
I am working on two projects for RSC 2016 with another in the process of
being worked out, anyway so far:
my house does have blue with accents of purple and a few
other colours in the mix there, as usual! I've made the chimneys taller rather
than the square ones I used many years ago on a quilt,
I rather like this version. 12" finished so definitely need two each month
to make a decent sized quilt.
I love stars so this will be my second RSC project
6" and haven't decided on how many will be needed as yet.
You al know I love my flowers so as it's a blue month
one of my blue hydrangeas
Lots of quilters have linked with
and
so I'm off to have breakfast then have a look at the posts,
see you there!
Maureen
I so love your house, perfect colours together, and blue flowers, I have one of those somewhere, hidden in a huge area of taller trees. And your star, will all your blocks be blue/purple this year? I can see some gorgeous quilts coming up.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful start to the year!
ReplyDeletelovely blues! it's so dreary here, so it's nice to see a colorful flower!
ReplyDeleteI love the light edge on your house, and of course, the colors are luscious. And are all of your stars going to have fussy cut centers? And yes, blue hydrangeas are the best.
ReplyDeleteI love that old schoolhouse block and it looks gorgeous in your fabric choices (as usual).
ReplyDeleteLovely bunch of sewing there. And the colour of the hydrangea is just stunning. Mine suffered terribly during the heatwave we had before Christmas, and most of them are all shrivelled up. We had a ton of rain in the last week or so, so I am hoping they will revive. (Don't have that lush colour in mine though. I'm green with envy, or should that be blue? LOL)
ReplyDeleteGreat start to RSC, I do like that bit of purple mixed in with the blues!
ReplyDeleteI love both your blocks, especially with the colors you've used! Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteLovely blocks, Maureen! And your hydrangea is a show-stopper!
ReplyDeleteI love both your projects and your color combining is just right!
ReplyDeleteGreat projects, and I love the blue/purple house; fantastic colours as always.
ReplyDeleteWonderful fabrics! Good project choices. So many blogging friends are doing this. It will be fun to follow along. Gorgeous hydrangea. Yum!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fabrics!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blue fabrics! I can't decide which I like more the house block or the star block - both are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous fabrics you are using ! :)
ReplyDeleteOh boy! Your blocks will be fun to watch, as always! Beautiful hydrangea; I'm a fan, but have never tried growing them.
ReplyDeleteI always so enjoy your colorful blocks! Thanks for sharing them with Oh Scrap! One of these days I am going to have to start cutting into my Kaffe collection.
ReplyDeleteExcellent choices! And such pretty blues!
ReplyDeleteYour house and star are lovely. Your fabrics are as beautiful as your flowers. Thanks for the hydrangea.
ReplyDeleteI love your blocks, Maureen. Such lovely projects to start the new year off with. My hydrangeas were starting to get a bit of a sunburnt look but the rain has saved them!
ReplyDeletegorgeous! I wondered about doing houses... a simpler pattern I found. Haven't picked blocks this year...LeeAnna
ReplyDeleteStunning blocks!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh just look and you with your gorgeous hydrangeas when all we've got and bare branches! Love the little house, it makes me think of a gingerbread house with those lovely tall chimneys :)
