Well, I finished the 10 churn dash blocks today - not good!!
I have a photo and it's taken on a ridiculous angle, but that's all I
could manage today, reason why after the photo
with wavy blocks!
I wouldn't want to size this to Xtra Large.

and at my review Monday of my CT scan and appt with the Spinal
specialist they confirmed that basically my whole spine is in a
very bad way.
I won't bore you with the effect this is having on me, but it's enough to make
life very, very difficult in a number of ways and extremely painful.
Decreased sensation in my fingers is having an effect on
my patchwork piecing and that bugs me!!! Small pieces
are now a no go for me, as you can tell by looking
at the Churn Dash blocks above.

Whilst I'm mulling over some issues relating to the above I
had a wander around the garden,
the camellia below is superb, around 6" across
and look what's just opened in time
for the official start of Spring tomorrow here in
New Zealand - my special little violet "Freckles".

ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your back, I think your churn dash blocks looks great. I used to have "speckles" in my garden, I think I only had one flower in its lifetime.

I so hate to hear of your suffering and pain. And to lose the sensation in the fingers.....we just don't want to go there. From experience I can encourage you to push on, do what you can, find ways to continue what you do. There is no medicine that cures the pain, so I will send hugs and encouragement whenever you need it.
ReplyDeleteFor the quilt you are working on....luscious colors filled with vibrancy and shouting here I am. fabulous prints and the fabrics speak for them selves.
Freckles is gorgeous and so are your quilt blocks in the photo (such gorgeous colors). Take it easy and scale back to allow that spine to heal as much as possible. Your fabrics will wait for you (although you may not be so happy about the enforced delays). Sending all manner of good thoughts!!

ReplyDeleteOh dear, not good news on the health front. Getting older is not for whimps! Your churn dash blocks look super - no signs of small piece problems there! No, sign of spring here yet except for the camellias.
