Catching up

It's been a busy week with grandchildren, working on my Rail Fence quilt for the Quiltalong at
Cultural Fusion Quilts
and working out which fabrics in my stash I'm going to hang on to and which
can find a new home, I desperately need to cull!

I have been able to get 6 Scrappy Mountain blocks together
in black!

Notice the pukekos - they are contrary little creatures and
do things a little differently to what we would expect!

Hopefully I can get out in the garden for a little while late afternoon,
it's a beautiful Spring day  even though Spring doesn't officially
hit us until September 1st. Daffodils are blooming, bluebells budding up, camellias
full of flowers  and yesterday we bought super size punnets of viola and stock from the
garden  centre nearby, the stock plants are just in flower and the scent is heavenly, I've
planted them by the path to the front entrance.
I love this time of the year!

If you would like to see more black or neutral projects go along to
for the link-up.

  1. Your Mountains are fun and beautiful. Ah, spring! We're looking forward to autumn around here. We need the cooler, wetter weather to help us gain control over the wildfires that have cropped up in our mountains. I never thought I'd be looking forward to the wet and gloomy months of fall and winter in the Pacific Northwest!

  5. Spring...amazing! And pukekos are an excellent choice for indigo. And you seem to have them well trained for mountain climbing.

  6. You do such a great job of coordinating the darks and lights, especially in this week's group. Keep up the good work. By the way, my RSC15 post at place 12 works fine. The first one failed. I always enjoy hearing about you seasons. My friend will love hearing about how sweet the stock smells.

  9. These mountain blocks are looking good! I think you have been very clever with the light backgrounds... a nice change from the usual 'low volumes' we see!

  10. Wonderful blocks! I'm trying to cull some fabric and scraps that I'll never use, too. Donating them to the guild's scrap box.

  12. They are all fun blocks. I had never heard of pukekos until about a week ago when someone else was talking about pukeko fabric on their blog.

We are moving toward fall here it seems since there has been a drop in temps and blowing winds. Seems a little early. I start my stocks from seed...I do love scented flowers.
