Scrappy Days

Yes it's time for scrappy Saturday but I'm only just posting this
today (Monday). Busy weekend and with the time difference
I am late!

One more green house

and on to another colour for June.

My stars for RSC are languishing in their drawer waiting
for me to get my act together and do a catch up, my intentions
are good but my little helper has slowed me up

here she is helping me on the computer

and her favourite pastime below

when she is causing havoc around the place.

My posting and quilting has been neglected somewhat due to Tallulah but
I think we're in to a routine now - just like a new baby - so things
can only get better!

Autumn Colours

It's a real Autumn day here - but a very wet one.

Things have been slow this week for quilting, blame it on the weather and
not feeling too great after having my yearly 'flu shot. However,
I have my two houses in orange with black accents, and a lot
of other accents in my case as usual!

I've given them dark skies to match the day!

I've decided to bring my small quilting frame up into the
sitting room for the Winter, I can fit a 60" wide quilt
with two basted and ready to go a I should be quite snug
sitting there hand quilting again.

Oh I have another Autumn flower here, a new hibiscus

isn't she glorious!

I've added some bright colour to my little studio with a plastic carry bin, I love
turquoise but usually go for a little more subdued.

For more colour I'm linking up now with
and
Oh Scrap!
later today.

Happy Quilting

More stars!

Very little sewing has been done here with seeing
family over Easter, so only two stars this week. I did  have  four
all cut but the other two have fallen by the wayside I will be
sewing those over the next few days.

Out for a quick walk yesterday we spotted this tree with leaves
turning this glorious colour.

Stars on Saturday and Organisation

I should have Stars on Sunday as we're late afternoon presently
in New Zealand. It's always difficult to time a post just after Angela has
held the Link-up.

Three stars this week because I've been busy basting the quilt
for my grand-daughter and developed a tendon issue again
so it's been a case of basting for 15 mins at a time then resting the offending hand - which doesn't
actually get you very far!

However
one more light blue star

then on to  dark stars

the next one is a good example of working when extremely tired and sore

and below we have it with pieces correctly placed

that will be all my sewing for today - a new day tomorrow.

Plans for this week include beginning the quilting for afore mentioned
basted quilt, choosing fabric for and sewing another house block -
I'm thinking I may make a 16 block wall quilt rather than a full sized quilt with the houses.
Also project planning needs to be cleared up.

I would be interested to know how many of you out there have your computer separate
from your quilting studio. I have a very small room and struggle for space, I am overflowing
with stacked bins full of projects, scraps, strips etc. I have two machines, one
set in a cabinet for sewing and one in a largish table for quilting, I have stacked cubbies
holding yardage of my KF fabrics plus a closet minus doors
which holds my wire mesh baskets - with yet more fabric.
 I've been thinking
how workable it would be to move out my computer and printer but then
I figure I could be running from one room to another checking photos of
works in progress and settings which will probably become increasingly
annoying and  then involve time and effort in moving
it back again, also where is the best place for my blog reading and
creating. Any suggestions welcomed.

I'm off to link up now with all the super projects at
and
Oh Scrap!

Have a happy week

Sunny Side Up

Our first week using Yellow in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2015
and at last I summoned up the energy after two weeks
feeling absolutely awful
to get to my machine and make a block!

And what a nightmare taking a shot of this. I used my camera with
three different light settings, I used my iPad but both results were too much on
the green side.
I moved the design wall over onto
a different wall and repeated the exercise, still not happy,
Eventually got just the exact colour with my iPhone. Downloaded once
more to my computer and opened Elements but once again the
colour changed!! Into preferences
was the next step and there are various
set-ups in there for the colour and now I have more or less a pretty
good match but not as sunny a yellow as
it should be, I'll try again tomorrow. The light outside was pretty strange today and
that wouldn't have helped.

I crept out into the front garden bed on the weekend to take this photo
of the last of my day lilies to flower. Officially we are now into
Autumn in New Zealand so the garden will begin to get ready for
Winter slowly over the next two months.

Going over now to link with Angela and all at RSC 2015
and as the block I'm using for this year is designed by Cynthia Brunz I'm linking with her at
Oh Scrap! the button will shortly be on my sidebar.

More from me during the week, happy quilting.
