Progress!!

Hooray - I feel I'm now "back in the saddle" with my quilting.

The yellow/green segment of Chinese Coins.
Starting on the red/yellow section Monday.

Concentration was needed with cutting the strips, it was so easy
to cut the original oblong fabric pieces in the wrong direction. so I now
have quite a few double ups in my parts box!

Measurements of the above segment 35" x 15".
I don't have a "set in concrete" plan for this small quilt,
I'll just play along and see where it takes me.

Is anyone else noticing that the list of blogs they follow
is becoming smaller?? I think a lot of folk are using Instagram
and Facebook, perhaps this is due to the amount of time
some quilters have available.

I love looking at the sky at sunrise and sunset this is
one from a few days ago.

A truly "brooding" sky here!

Nice in green! Yes a very moody sky, it came to me this afternoon while mowing the lawn!

Your Chinese Coin segment is great. I hope people don't stop blogging - I love reading blogs. Don't do Instagram so anything posted there would not be seen by me.

Love the Green, too--looks like stems with yellow flowers to me...I don't do Instagram or any of the other "social" media things; I like reading blogs and blogging-- I have noticed that there are fewer postings weekly...but then, I like paper and pencil
too--just old fashioned I guess...this is one lovely piece....hugs, Julierose

Instagram and Facebook are like someone who keeps channel surfing with the remote constantly clicking. Just flickers of ideas with no context or content. I love blogs and blogging because it tells a story or chronicles the process. Thank you for all I have learned from your blogs.

I love that yellow and green together!!

Good for you....the colors look great. Yes, less blogs now, and it have cleaned up the list some. I will blog when I have something to say, and not into the instant overload of ''look at me''.

I'm another who prefers blogs, but notice that often people drop off after they start using instagram especially. I love your coins - the green looks like a big spiky tree to me.

Pretty! Nice movement with those skinny triangles. I know what you mean about cutting them wrong, it's easy to do.

I'm on Instagram, but hardly check it anymore. The number of photos is just too much. I like to read about the process of quilting, so words matter! My own blog list is still growing, although individual bloggers do seem to post less. But I understand that, it takes time to write up a decent post, and I'm guilty of doing it less, too.

Wow that is lovely! I am looking forward to seeing this one come together.

This is really eye-catching. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next.

There are fewer blogs, and more Instagram. I'm finding that I am weeding out a lot of 'not much' IG accounts. I think blogging may be more challenging when kids get older and busier which might account for some of it. Certainly enjoy your blog.

Lovely autumnal feel to that block, echoes all the leaves lying about at present. Still some regular bloggers out there, on the whole I find it doesn't take too long to create a post, my problem is remembering to take photos of things to write about. See you next week for the first Sew, Stitch, Snap, Share link up.

Your chinese coins are awesome...although your version of chinese coins is quite unique. And I still find blogging important as a diary for myself, although Buddy is a fan of instagram for showing his selfies.

Look forward to seeing what happens next with your 'chinese coins.' I find the blogging community so inspirational & +ve. I love writing and reading blogs, and don't want them to disappear.

Love your Chinese Coins, the yellow and green are so pretty together. I'm hoping people don't stop blogging. Reading blogs is like reading someone's letter to everyone.

Oh, I like your version of Chinese Coins! Looks like a stem with many leaves against a background of a beautiful flower garden.

I'm not on Facebook or Instagram. I still like reading blogs and really getting to know people and their passions although I someday hope to become a hermit toiling away hours quilting and gardening and listening to the birds.

If blogging had a LIKE button, I think more people would respond to written posts. It gets discouraging when a blogger takes the time to photograph and write a post, and only get a couple of comments. People's lives are busy. Inspiration and congratulations comes in snippets these days :(

I think a lot of people started blogging when that was the only option to share photos, but Instagram is really a better fit for them. Writers still want to write, but the intersection of quilters and writers is a much smaller group. I think it will level out.

Love that green and gold! One of my favourite colour pairs. :D

There are 5 blogs I follow religiously - Mystic Quilter, Exuberant Color, Happy Quilting Melissa, Quilting is More Fun Than Housework, Quilting Diva. I do agree with Barb in the comment above that there should be a LIKE button. I started reading blogs 2 years ago and don't know if people read them less. Having a rushed life is why, I think, many of us quilt - it slows us down so we can listen to the sighing of thread through fabric.

Thanks Robby for your comment. Perhaps when our kids were young I too possibly would have struggled to blog, now they're all married with children of their own so I don't have to deal with time issues really.

I love your coins! They look like some lush leafy growth.
I've been blogging for about eight years, and really prefer it as a format. I don't like Facebook, and I've been underwhelmed by Instagram, so I'll just keep reading and writing out here in blogdom. I love the story aspect that blogs have, which is missing in other formats.

I'm with you too!
Let's hear it for the story and the process!
