A Brief Encounter .....

This will be brief due to a silly way of rushing to grab a hold
of the car door - thankfully no fingers trapped but I tore
one of my nails almost halfway down the nail bed!!
OUCH

This was on Monday and luckily we were almost right next to our
doctor's surgery so I hopped in there and the
ever so kind nurse trimmed of what she could, the saying
"hanging by a thread" now has a whole new
meaning for me!
Very difficult to sew/type, below is all I could manage
this week.

So here are four 6" Churn Dash blocks, these
will be in the next row of my Memory Quilt 1,
see the labels on the right for a past photo.

I foolishly thought I could try a little hand quilting (sore
finger left hand), the quilt - Paintbox - was already in the hoop
with three blocks quilted - but it was a no go!!

All my above efforts were closely watched over by my
faithful helper

who is obviously letting me know that she's not moving!
I'll be back in a few days, have a good weekend.

Ouch! I had a somewhat similar experience with a toe. You have my sympathies. Wishing you quick healing.

Ouch, hope that means you can't do housework or cooking either. Loving those colours in paintbox!

SOOO Painful. Keep it elevated, maybe sew at eye level. Love those fabrics and colours.

The colors of the 6" blocks are so wonderfully rich and saturated. Get better quick and be careful.

Oh, I know how that feels to tear a nail or to bend one back. I can feel your pain. I love your churn dash blocks!

I love the blocks. Hopefully the sad nail story..nail etc..will still allow you to order fabric online...xoxo

Poor you! I'm really feeling it for you, both the pain and the inconvenience. I was luckier than you as just I caught the stitched edge of my shoe on old wooden stairs whilst rushing back for trims I had forgotten. What a flying fall as I smacked my hands in an effort to save myself, but managed to scrape my knees through jeans and hit my specs into my face. I am amazingly unscathed except for a couple of grazes, sore hands and nose. I am so lucky, so grateful and more so as I read of your trauma.
Loving the churn dash. You colour choices are always fabulous.

Great 'churn dash' blocks! Hoping it's quick healing for that nail too.

That sounds so painful. I've torn my nails but never so far back. Does that mean you win the prize? I do hope you get better soon.
Your blocks looks gorgeous, especially that fourth churn dash. Love the way you made a second round of petals.

Ouch! That hurts! Hopefully you'll heal quickly and can get back to stitching as normal.

I bet that's sore. Good wishes for a quick heal...guessing it might take a while. Hope you've got a good book to read instead of stitching.

Ouch! Good thing you have cat claw help...a nail and a needle in one. In any case, the churn dashes are adorable!
