sew stitch snap SHARE #15

I'm snatching just a few minutes to write this post and then link
up with Linda and Julie. Link will be at the bottom of this post.

Unfortunately since my last post  two weeks ago
ill health has persisted, after more tests I'm hopeful that
I truly am improving!!

Progress had been made in two quilting areas, at least I think so.

Desert Rose was first up on my list for finishing with two more borders to add.
After looking at this on my design wall for two days
I made the decision to forget more borders

and basted it!
Board basting and using herringbone stitch - all ready to quilt.

A change of plan with my first Memory quilt, this was the planned
layout with large squares on point top row (just off the top I'm afraid)

with my change from the pattern to stars, then my small golden churn dash.
After this was on the wall for a few days I decided it wasn't doing anything for me,
somewhere along the way I had lost my way!!

So, back to following the original block patterns by Judy Newman.
much happier now.

Below are three blocks using fabrics I love.

Embroidered Leaf

Dream

Feathers
All teamed with KF Dream Dark.

In the midst of my problems poor Leila was attacked by
a neighbouring cat, two days at the emergency vet office
over the weekend, and today with our usual vet in surgery.
I'm feeling pretty down and sad right now, she's staying in there overnight and hopefully
home tomorrow.

I suspect barely any quilting will be done in the next few days,
I'll be wearing my nurse uniform!

Keep well and happy, enjoy your quilting and see you soon.

Hope you'll go along to visit
Linda at kokaquilts
and
Julie at justjulielou

Now I'm off to read almost one weeks worth of blog posts from you all.

I hope you and your cat are well and truly on the road to recovery. I was loving those little golden churn blocks on your memory quilt.

Best wishes to you and Leila for better health. Love your quilt - good idea to forget the borders. Sometimes it's good to just get a quilt finished and this one is gorgeous. I can see why you like those blocks, delicious fabrics!

Hope you are truly on the mend and can get the cat all healed up too. Both projects are coming together beautifully. Hope you do get in some time for stitching this week.

Oh, how I wish I could wave a Magic Wand and get you back to health. I guess it just takes patience and attitude. Go out and take some flower/scenery photos to share with us who are going into winter soon. I still have a couple of flowers in my boxes as we have dodged any killing frosts so far, but I knnow it is coming. Your quilt is just stunning. Wow.

Desert Rose is beautiful....extra borders would only make it bigger not better:)
The design muse visited and you heard and listened. usually a good thing. I love the hourglass blocks you made up and the fabric is gorgeous. What size are those hourglass blocks?
I agree with Linda....we need to wave Magic Wands over you. Agonizing to have your beloved pet harmed and needing so much care. I do pray your health is on the road to recovery. We need your style and color in our worlds.

I know how bad my sprained muscles were when I had one day with a lot less pain. I hope your day is coming too, when health is not compromised. Leila, what a worrying time ( and expensive too!!) I hope she is home and recovering in your wonderful care, if only they could talk. I like the fabrics you are using so much. I have seen a new applique pattern, will email you the details in case you might like to join along, it uses Kaffee's fabrics!!!Take care, will try and remember to phone next week on updates for everyone.

The quilt is stunning. Sending good vibes to you for sending off those evil spirits of depression...boy do I know those...and dear kitty cat...not good...may the two of you cuddle and nap and be happy with each other when she is back.

I hope you and Leila are both soon on the road to recovery - you can keep each other company while you rest up. I like your decisions, though I hope those golden churn dash blocks will end up in a quilt one day.

Two lovely colourful quilts under way here! I like the changes you ended up doing with your 'memory' quilt, it seems ot flow better. You could use the discarded blocks on the back? And your 'desert road' colours are stunning! Hope you (& Leila) recover quickly.

Hang in there, Maureen! I'm encouraged that you are hopeful about your health. It's always hard when a pet is injured; they just don't understand all the medical necessities. But I'm sure Leila understands your love and concern and is comforted by that.

I hope you find another home for the golden churnettes, they are sweet!

I think Desert Rose is finished too. I love the combination of fabrics.

KF Dream Dark mixes well with others...which can't be said of the neighbor cat! I hope this wasn't Leila's former best friend. I hope you both get better and make many more beautiful quilts together!

I hope you and Leila are soon well. Your fabric choices always look wonderful to me. So rich and sophisticated. That border on Desert Rose reminds me of some blocks in my box. Hopefully I'll be able to get to it before New Years.

It's so good to figure out the plan for ongoing projects, then work on the implementation. Great colors in both of these!

Your colors and blocks are all beautiful however you decide to arrange them. And that is a big
part of the fun!
I too am sorry to hear you haven't been well and your Leila got attacked, how awful.
Prayers for health and healing.

I love the palette you've been using lately, Maureen! It's perfect for our fall views. But I wonder, will you soon switch to spring colours?
