Darling Daisy

 Daisy

This is our darling Daisy who had to take her last journey to visit the
vet on Tuesday this week.
She developed kidney disease two years ago and battled on
bravely but sadly she took a downhill turn two weeks ago with the disease
and combined with her arthritis and a heart murmur
diagnosed last week there was nothing further that could be done, her
quality of life had fast deteriorated, so we did what we, and the vet
felt was the kindest thing we could do for her.
She was almost 18 years old and had been found at three
months old stuffed in a plastic bag by the side of the road. The local
vet surgery had her in a cage at reception with a large
sign - Kind Home Wanted - she came home with us.
I miss her so very, very much.

Yesterday,  at a loss as to what to do with my day I found a few
stars which I had begun for Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2015 and
thought I would put them together

Wow - for you to turn around such a horrible start in her life and give her nearly 18 years of fun, is really lovely. 18 years is a very good innings for a puss, as I'm sure you know. Perhaps you could donate the quilt to the SPCA and have them auction it to raise funds. Enjoy the memories and remember that you did a good thing by taking her in and making her (and you) happy - that's her legacy.

Sadness at your loss, and what a memory quilt, 18 years is, as my Dad did say " A Good Innings" and after a rough start, you gave her, love, safety, and heaps of that TLC. Hugs to you and in Daisy's memory too.

So sad about your kitty. My favorite cat, Cinders, had diabetes and soldiered on for 2 years with it and finally looked at me and her eyes said let me go. The vet gave me a heart ornament with her footprint in it that I keep on the wall in my family room. Her sister lives on at 18 but pretty much just puts up with us!

I am so sorry for your loss. I love the quilt you made in her honor. The animals in our family give us their unconditional love and leave a hole in our hearts when they are gone.

I'm so sorry Maureen. Cats may not take up much physical space, but they fill our lives with such a large and loving physical presence. Take good care of yourself.

Oh she was beautiful, she has obviously had a very good life after a rough start. My cat will be 19 in January, and we know that we too will have to make that oh so hard, but oh so right decision one day too. My thoughts are with you.

I'm so sorry to read about poor Daisy, Maureen. It must have been such a difficult decision and a really horrible time. I have a cat called Daisy too and she's 15 now and a bit wobbly on her legs. I can't bear the thought of a future without her, so can only imagine how you feel. Thinking of you x
