Gypsy Wife

I'm only just making a start on Section 6 of this QAL
and thought I'd start off on the one with the smallest pieces and played
around with colour placement rather than following the
pattern

Nurses Cross

8" finished size

I enjoyed working on this block, the remainder for the section
are quite simple and along with the strips shouldn't take
too long.

We've had a lot of wet and windy weather here in New Zealand
but all the cyclamen are flowering and the hellebores. I find the leaves
on the cyclamen even more beautiful than the flowers!

The garden is desperately in need of weeding but it's still far too wet to
get in the garden beds.

Leila is growing like mad, at least in length, as you can see from
the photo of her bird watching below.

I have two days of blog posts to catch up on so that's
all from me today.
Have a happy weekend.

Maureen

That's a beautiful block! I love the colors you're bringing to Gypsy Wife.
(I've always been preferred cyclamen leaves to the flowers - so pretty!)
And yeah, Leila is really telescoping, isn't she? What a lovely girl!

Nice block and fabric choices with lots of color which you do well. A group of us just started Gypsy Wife, still working on the first section. It's fun!

Hi Maureen, beautiful block. Gypsy Wife QAL is tempting me.
I think I cleared up my problem with 'no reply'. Thanks for letting me know.

The cyclamen leaves are really pretty. My mother used to have them as houseplants and I was so amazed by the beautiful flowers that I don't know if I ever looked at the leaves.

Cyclamen leaves are a lot easier to photograph than the glowers. Leila is looking quite wistfully at those birds outside. Have a fabulous weekend.

Your block is perfect in every way, beautiful fabric choices. When I first saw the photo I thought it was going to be a center of a medallion quilt. I love Helbores!! They are one of my favourite flowers.

Love love that block. .......not quite as much as I love the kitty!

Such a great use of value...sometimes a challenge with the Kaffe collective. And yes, Leila is fast approaching the stage of kitten in a cat's body.

Such a sweet kitty. I'm sure she's happy to be out of the collar. I agree with Sally's comment above about your use of value. It can be hard with Kaffe and isn't something I think as much about as I should.
