Julie at justjulielou suggested that she and I have a swap of 5" squares,
she would send me Anna Maria Horner in exchange for
Kaffe Fassett Collective fabrics
and just look at the lovely selection she sent.
I have only a handful of AMH fabrics in my stash
but I've cut 5" squares (below) from those to add to the swap
from Julie, along with more from different designers.
I'm thinking of a throw size quilt and luckily I have
a few Amy Butler, Heather Ross, Victoria Findlay Wolfe
plus other designers to add to the mix.
I'm cutting 2" squares from my Jinny Beyer fabrics, these
will be going into the quilt.
Remember my KF teapots??
Three for the second row now all appliqued, two
more rows to go and then a hunt for the perfect sashing and border.
I've also found a few quiet minutes to wander in the garden, lots of roses beginning
to bloom, I was surrounded by the scent from all these
old roses.
I love this very soft pink/peach David Austin - sadly I've forgotten
her name!
Another favourite are my Rugosas,
below is the bud of Rugosa 'Alba'
here she is below fully open, a single Rugosa.
in all her glory
with her glorious perfume. Open the garden gate into
the back garden and you're in heaven!!
These roses are very, very hardy - no wonder because they
have the most lethal prickles I've ever seen, even Leila
doesn't try to chew these stems!

Your roses are gorgeous, I can just smell them.
We had snow today.
I can see a song coming " These are a few of my favourite things". Those swap squares would lift you up.Not to mention roses and their perfume.
The teapots are still one of my all-time favourites - I'm looking forward to see them finished. Lovely AMH fabrics, even lovelier roses; old-fashioned rose is the best smell in the world.
How delightful to see your teapots again. And those lovely roses. I had a Duchesse de Brabant once with the most beautiful scent that bloomed all summer. How I miss it.

Gorgeous fabric and gorgeous flowers, oh my. Blooming roses- I have to wait until May. A few coneflowers, snapdragons, and nasturtiums are all that are left. We have not had a hard frost yet, which is unusual. Your fabrics are all so beautiful.
That looks like a great trade of fabric. A scented garden is always a delight.

Lovely roses--we are on our way into Wintertime here, so no flowers, except my marigolds that seem to last forever!!

All the glorious color! And those lovely roses... Rugosas were always my favorites - they still smell like roses. (So many modern roses are almost scentless. Such a travesty of roseness!)
It is a happy post. I wish I could do some gardening...alas...the leaves are falling, golden and bronze...with a chill in the air. All I feel like doing is napping and reading...so lazy...
swaps sure are a great idea as we need the variety for scrap quilts. Nice teapots. Your roses...........magic!
What a fun idea to have a swap, I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with them. Yes I remember the tea posts and well done on some more....your fussy cutting for them works so well! I'm enjoying springtime scents as well. Your roses are looking beautiful and very healthy. Mine already need a bit of a tidy-up!

Love your teapots, and your roses, too! Even with the prickly thorns, the deer that face starvation near us in the winter don't seem to mind eating the stalks of the rose bushes. So I leave them uncut in the fall, and the deer do the pruning for me, lol! At least it gives them a wee bit of nourishment through our harsh winters.
