Waiting In The Wings

A lazy Sunday

I've only just cut and fused another teapot for RSC 2015, by rights
this should be light blue or blue/green but when
I had all the teapots on my wall I switched my previous blue one
and I'm calling it the light blue for this month and
I've made a darker blue one to do a swap!

There jury is still out with this one, I do need some of the teapots to be subdued
and others brighter but when I have all 9 or 12 I'll be in a better position to make
a decision.

It's been a day or so of play rather than serious sewing, yesterday I
received the stretched hexie template produced by

and just had to cut a couple out, they're 10" long and a quilt top
could be put together in no time, I love the size it's great for showcasing
favourite prints.

Another play-time project is Scrap Vortex,
Amanda Jean
has been putting up a tutorial for this quilt and it seemed a good
way to use up bits and pieces, the link is to her first week.

Linking up with Angela from RSC 2015

Down to the more serious stuff tomorrow!

Before I head off I must tell you the outcome of my request for
information on a small scrap of fabric two posts ago, I had a 2" square left
and was hoping a store somewhere may have had a little tucked away.
Next thing you know I had an email from
Linda over at Koka Quilts
telling me she had a piece in her pastels, Linda is here in Auckland just
about 30 mins drive away, she kindly popped the fabric in the mail and I
was able to cut a few blocks for the quilt for my
grand-daughter. Hopefully I can return the favour with fabric from my stash.

I'm so glad you added the teapots to your RSC collection...they are so delightful. And now you have me tempted to join the Scrap Vortex project. It looks like so much fun. Plus I haven't started a new quilt yet today.

Those teapots are so cute. That one has a dark mysterious look. The are are nearly as captivating as the kitties.
Did I tell you the Bernina shop in Rotorua burnt down? Just when I had found a reasonable price place to buy Kaffe.

I've been looking at the scrap vortex, too, but many of my scraps are neither rectangular nor bright. Fairly dull bunch. It's good to see yours!
All the teapots are adorable. I know what you mean about seeing them all together. But the odd ones out would look great on the back or as housewarming gifts.

Great teapot. Love the dotty fabric background. Your quilt along project looks like such a good way to bust those scraps. Thanks for sharing the link.

LOVE all your teapots. Enjoy seeing your scraps become fabric. I plan to do some of that with my crumbs, too.

Isn't the power of quilty bloggers amazing? Love that you were able to "find" the fabric.

Happy stitching with your scraps (and teapots).

I like the dark fabric combination you made. It's fun while being sophisticated. The elongated hexie idea is intriguing. I'll watch what you make! I like the idea of repeating large blocks to show fabrics. LeeAnna

Love your 'dark' teapot...I find if I repeat an element it all balances out somehow! I too am tempted to join in the Scrap Vortex fun, always looking for a good way to use up those scraps! And, thanx for the shout out, I was happy to help!
