Two new projects

I love getting fabrics ready for new projects, two are in the process
as of this week.

I'm making another Rail Fence with
Cultural Fusion Quilts but in the bright colours which I love and
using only one quarter of the 16" Fence blocks

I love cutting these strips

and the effect of the Ombre fabric.

Second project, two posts ago in Making Progress I mentioned the
Ad Hoc Improv Quilters
and included  blog links for Ann and Kaja who
together had this happen and whose latest posts
suggest a way of working.

I selected one of my favourite fabrics then quite randomly other fabrics,
some I had forgotten about and I never thought they would all
play together nicely but

I'm happy with them. The colours, especially the duck egg blues on the left,
are not quite as clear as in "real life".  I think I'm going to
base my work on rectangles - that could change though!!

Pretty rails--I stopped making mine as cutting those four layers was hard and also truing up to 4.5" wasn't working because of the curves....something didn't gel with my understanding (or not!!) of this method....I have three made so they will become something sometime....yours look great!! hugs, Julierose

Beautiful color range...am really looking forward to watching the improv unfold. I am wondering though if you have enough lights in the mix?

Oh those ombres! They make your blocks glow and spring to life, just gorgeous! (I know I'm gushing)
And I love those colours you've put together in your selection, I think they'll work perfectly. You have a wonderful sense of colour.

I really like your fabric selection and can't wait to see where it takes you. If you change from rectangles as you go along, I guess that's just improv for you!
