A sad week - Setters and one orange teapot

A sad week indeed and the end of an era.

We had to make our last visit to the vet on Monday morning with
Seamus, our old Irish Setter and the last of the seven
we have had as family members over the past  45 years.

Saturday last week his hind legs gave out on him so we knew
this was the end. He reached the grand old age of 13 years - good for
a Setter.

Seamus
Here he is below with his sister Mollie when they were just
a few years old, we lost her due to cancer
4 years ago. They were waiting for John to come out of the water
after his swim.

Seamus and Mollie

And I just have to have this one in the post, his favourite place of all,
on the knee of his best pal!

Seamus and John

I did pull myself together and made an orange teapot

and I'm off  to link up with Angela and the goodies on show for
Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2015

  5. Losing a dear pet is like the loss of a child. Seamus gave you unconditional love with his whole being like a child.

  8. A loss like no other, and dear Seamus, he will have given and received so much love during his life with you. I am sure Mollie was waiting for him,and they are together again. Words fail me, but I send heartfelt thoughts of love and care, a truly sad time. Maybe the teapot will be a special one with his name on it. Hugs.

  12. Sorry to you'll heal with another puppy! We had to say goodbye to our BJ several years ago who was a big husky/newfounland male and he was missed for sure. But someone poisoned him and so the loss was very hard to reconcile with who would do such an awful thing.
Three years ago we posted on Kijiji that we were looking for a female shepard/lab cross and so Rusty came into our lives to fill the void and she has done so with spades.

  14. Sorry about your loss of Seamus. He looks like he lived a very full life with his best bud (who both look very unhappy with the camera).

    Very cute teapot.

  17. The worst thing about dogs is their shorter life span. My condolences on your recent loss. Lovely little tea pot though (of course!).
