Colour changes for Autumn

No I haven't lost the plot and stuck with browns again,
this month we're with Purple and Yellow accents for
Rainbow Scrap Challenge, but I've just been in the
garden checking the Hydrangeas and they're already getting into their
early Autumn colours of purples and reds.

Onto my efforts with Rainbow Scraps

I love this purple house because it reminds me of those wonderful
Autumn days walking home from school as a child in the North of England,
shuffling along through all the dried leaves covering the footpath with the light already
fading at 3.30pm in the afternoon. Darkening skies and houses already
with lights shining through the windows - I can almost feel that I am back
there! In fact I feel a quilt coming on encompassing all my memories
of those days - keep watching!

This one above feels a bit "blocky" in the sense that I've strayed from
my usual multi KF Collective fabrics and gone with a
one colour only fabric, so it doesn't stand out too much in the midst
of the multi patterned houses in the finished quilt
I'll make a couple more like this to add to the mix.

With all this talk of Autumn I do have a beautifully scented
climber presently flowering.

Stephanotis has been in my garden two years and has really taken
of this year, she's a beauty.

Now, if you hanker after more purples and yellows visit

I haven't heard Stephanotis mentioned for many years. It was in my bridal bouquet 56 years ago. I wonder if it would grow here.

I like your first house, great choice of fabrics.

You captured the glowing windows perfectly. And I'm so impressed with your hydrangea.

I love those purples! Your houses are such fun. And it's so interesting seeing your fall flowers as we head into spring!

Love those houses. Having spent some time in the North of England in winter I can just fell that early darkness you speak of.

I remember my Nan growing Stephanotis when I was young. I was always so intrigued by it after hearing that Princess Di (who I was obsessed with) had it in her wedding bouquet.

Thanks for sharing your garden photos. I am reading this at 6 am in the UK, where it is nearly full daylight already and the daffodils are in full bloom!

Must say, I noticed my hydrangeas are also that sort of multi-colour just now... autumn on it's way! Love reading about your memories too!

I'm having fun visualizing your garden! Love how you've translated a garden into your purple houses!

Your blocks are gorgeous... those colours combine really well! The changes in the garden at the moment are beautiful aren't they?

Gorgeous! Maureen I always love seeing your garden pictures, particularly since we are always at opposite seasons. Your blocks are beautiful too! I have been trying to resist RSC2016, but you are making it very hard!

Pansies and dianathus (I think), beautiful flowers and two great additions to your houses blocks.

You are so right, the houses at night with the lit Windows bring back memories of my childhood in New England.
I looked back at your cat blocks and wonder if you could tell me how big they are and where to get the pattern, please. They look great on black also.

See, a plant for every project! It would be fun to plan a garden like that. I love the top house and although the second one isn't so striking, a few quieter blocks scattered about will work well, I think.

Lovely houses. I'm intrigued how much the sky fabric changes your block. It will be nice to have some quieter homes interspersed with the showplaces.
Stephanotis. I haven't seen that in years. How lovely - all your flowers are a delight.
