I can't write about the lecture as I had told many bloggers I would, you
will see why in a moment, I am trying to type with neither hand in a good way.
Two or three days I will post, but
the lecture absolutely fantastic! See b elow
kaffe and my favourite fabric
exchanging a few words with Kaffe as he signs my book.
Saturday - flare up of my De Quervain's tendonitis every movement of thumb or wrist causes excrutiating pain now splinted up
but today (Sunday) was a doozy
trying to do a little quilting on Chinese Coins - big mistake!!
needle straight through fingernail and out the other side and brokem
off just below needle shank.
Emergency care visit 2 hours with cutting off of quilting glove
the bit withthe needle through was cut into tiny pieces because they had
to xray as they thought it had gone through the bone.
So, mikssed bone by a hair breadth and kindly pulled out by doctor
with surgical pliers and with great pain for me!! Much, much worse than the
needle goin g in!
Padded up and of course the necessary tetanus jab.You are, by now
b ored to tears no doubt so I shall say adieu b ut I shall be back with thoughts on lecture
on Tuesday - I hope!!!!

Oh no! Poor you. What a miserable couple of days. I hope your hands feel better soon and I'll look forward to hearing more about Kaffe's lecture once they are working again.
I hoped they would have filled your finger with a lot of local. The glove, so sad that it's in pieces, And the lecture, just as well that was first on the list. Take care, rest with that hand held high!!! XXXX
Oh, insult to injury. Tendonitis and a needle through your finger. I'm so sorry and hope you feel better soon. Take care.
NO! what an ordeal! Glad you got to the lecture safe, but the tendonitis is awful and so very painful. Hope it is improving. So glad the needle missed the bone and hope it heals quickly. More pain is the last thing you need.
I'm not bored, but I'm horrified!! How awful for you to have not one source of bad pain, but TWO! Ouch, ouch!! Do you think your quilting flow was disrupted by wearing the wrist brace?
Sending you healing thoughts!
Sending all manner of pain-be-gone wishes. How lovely to see a photo of you at the lecture.
Oh I am so sorry to hear about your accident!! Take it easy and rest...I have been wearing my hand/thumb brace when I drive or go food shopping and am taking a complete rest from handwork. Wishing you a speedy recovery hugs, Julierose
Owie!!! When it rains, it pours, doesn't it? At least you got to make the lecture before all your shenanigans, lol! Heal fast!
Ouch! That looks painful. Hope things heal up fast so you can get back to sewing.
It sounds like a forced rest to heal. I can't imagine the pain of the needle going in or coming out. Rest up and re-live the memories of the lecture.
Oh goodness, not at all nice. Take care, mend quickly, and we'll look forward to reading your thoughts on Kaffe's talk soon.
Ouch Ouch Ouch!!! Fell better soon I hope.
Yowch, that would have hurt, hope it heals quickly and your tendonitis settles down. No need to reply to the comment :)
Oh Maureen, I reiterate everything that has already been said, so wont say it again. Prayers being said for your healing though and look forward to hearing you are well again.
OMG.........that is two horrible things for you! I hope you will mend from BOTH ASAP! Glad you enjoyed the Kaffe meeting. Did you buy more of his fabrics?
Oh my, I winced just reading this. Hope you are feeling better soon!
Our poor Maureen...sympathy here for sure...I did that exactly a year ago and the hand specialist made me go under in surgery because he said it would be too painful and I would not be able to stay still...OMG feeling for you. xoxo
I'm sorry Maureen, I hope you heal fast.
I'm glad the Kaffe lecture was good and inspiring!
Oh, I am so sorry Maureen. Hope you are better soon. I was lucky enough to take a class with Kaffe and it was absolutely awesome and fun. Glad you had an opportunity to meet him and go to his lecture. Take care.
Oh, my dear! I'm just gasping! I've sewn INTO my finger (there's an awful sound when the needle chonks onto the bone and stops), but I've never sewn THROUGH! Ow ow ow! And OW!
Oh my goodness, it never rains but it pours!! Hope you heal quickly and well! Hopefully the inspiration you got from Kaffe's lecture will keep you going for a while!
Oh, no! Ooochy (as my little grandson says) and a huge OOOWWwwhhh from me. You really are not behaving yourself at all, my dear. I do hope it heals quickly and you are out of pain too. We do not need excuses to NOT sew, we only need them to sew.
YIKES!
My goodness! I’ve often worried about such a thing. How terrible. I see from your newest post that it must be healing.
How very exciting to see and meet Kaffe Fassett!
Ouch, sounds very painful. Nice seeing a pic of you, what a treat to hear him speak and see his quilts.
